PRESS RELEASES
PHILADELPHIA, March 6, 2007— For the eighth consecutive year, Intracorp and CareAllies have together been named the nation's leading case management services provider by Business Insurance magazine in their annual ranking published March 5. Intracorp/CareAllies managed approximately 1.2 million cases in 2006. "We are thrilled to be designated yet again as the nation’s largest case management provider,” says Archie Anderson, President, Intracorp Disability Management. “As a company that laid the groundwork for case management services over 37 years ago, this recognition demonstrates our ongoing commitment and dedication to identifying innovative and patient-focused ways to help people recover from disabilities and return to work safely and productively .” The organization’s case managers, most of whom are registered nurses and vocational rehabilitation specialists, work with treating physicians to coordinate appropriate, quality care; ensure patient satisfaction, improve medical outcomes, facilitate a patient's timely return to work, and decrease overall health care expenses. For this ranking, Business Insurance defines case management as coordinating and monitoring treatment for catastrophic, complex or prolonged illnesses and injuries—including discharge planning, onsite or telephone case review and/or patient referrals—as well as managing communication among patients, providers and payers throughout the course of a claim. ”With decades of experience in case management, we are pleased to continue our strong tradition of helping employers manage their health care costs,” said Keith Dixon, Ph.D., president and chief executive officer of CareAllies and CIGNA Behavioral Health. “Case management is an important service offered by CareAllies, and we are able to integrate our strength in case management with a growing emphasis on prevention, risk identification and behavior change. It is through this approach that we are able to help individuals understand their health risks and develop a plan to address and prevent modifiable causes.”# # # |
